Exactly, its clear as day, these types of policies stem from anti blackness or self hatred.
I experienced the same thing in Kenyan schools. On top of that in my era we had corporal punishment. I can't tell you how many sadists I met cosplaying teachers. Beating kids and controlling them when they tried to express themselves a lil. I hated so many teachers. Any hairstyle that looked decent they found issue with. High top fades were "distracting"... Damn near any female hairstyle that wasn't natural was "distracting". Doesn't surprise me to see the same in Jamaica.

It's not that complicated. They see it as low brow and undignified. People forget it is a bunch of older and old-school people making these rules. It has nothing to do with FBA or even self-hate. A lot of things many of us like, are hated by plenty of our own. We have some brehs in this very thread who hate it as well.

A lot of former British colonies have authoritarian people who worship that strict rigid culture cacs put on them. When these people get into power at even the most base positions they trip like this. Everything from no braids, extensions or edges now.

It's pretty common and annoying. None of it has anything to do with education just power tripping colonized c00ning.

This is not that. We're not talking about judges wearing wigs here. This is about having a standard for ourselves and how that is maintained and with what nuances. The usual "well, what harm can it do?" approach is how you end up with the US public school system, and nobody wants that. Not even Americans.

@CopiousX I see what you're saying, they've had a distinct shift since earlier this year. Either way, real face or mask, I'm not concerned about that. The idea is what needs addressing.

This is a clear double standard. Whether it is us doing it to ourselves or other people doing it us, we always are the ones singled out and punished.

I need to see black school ban a white hairstyle or a white school ban a white hairstyle before i buy into this.

But it wouldn't matter because this is ultimately arbitrary and petty. even if you don't agree that it is anti black.

Further clumsy contrarian stupidity confirmed.

When the "standard" you're claiming to defend here starts working, then talk.

No, that's how these groups are about other things like tattoos and so on. The problem is that people tend to view these countries through a western lens. Outside of that, you will see how strict they are about standards. Again, you have people in this very thread who have a low opinion of the style. They just think it is low-brow and silly and prefer uniformity. This is similar to the push to wear school uniforms in schools. That's almost mandatory in all schools whereas not doing so is shocking and appalling.

You need to ask why black fashion and hairstyles are so often treated as low brow compare to euro centric standards
