You know what though?
I hear this a lot and I'm not disagreeing with you, but NYC changed radically under his tutelage...who's to say he didn't play a role in that?
Just curious what everyones thoughts on this are.
I'm not going to lie here.
NYC changed alot in his time in office. Alot of it for the better...a good amount for the worse. Crime went down, there was more commerce/business established in the city, he got rid of the sex shops, pimps and prostitutes in Times Square and replaced them with franchises and commercial businesses, and made it more tourist/family friendly. But at the end of the day, he'll be known as a scumbag. 9/11 (please don't take the wrong way) was honestly the best thing to happen to him. People forgot about his crass treatment of the poor and minorities and heralded him as a hero that held the city together during tough times.
Bloomberg really fukked New York over in the gentrification era, but Giuliani paved the way.
