Falcons B
Unless Kazee is going to start or get significant minutes at FS. We were one free safety away from an A :yeshrug:

Kazee will play CB at nickel & FS according to the Falcons. I like the pick because although we've got great depth at CB, Kazee gives us the ability to play either position.

I think Ricardo still starts with Keanu and Kazee provides depth for us for now

The FO believes in Allen and he is one of our leaders in the secondary.

I don't know if I'd go that far. They like Ricardo but they've been trying to upgrade that position all off season. To his credit he's done everything asked of him and is a professional about everything, but i wouldn't be shocked if he's not here after next yr (he's on a 1 yr deal)

Giants get a B, cusping on a B+. Everyone knows they need OL help, but there just wasn't anyone worth it.

Basic Cover 2 defenses were death on them last year and Engram is a weapon that should exploit the seam and also turn some of those 4 yard passes to the TE on 3 & 8 (because the tackles can't even hold for 2.5 seconds) into first downs. They might now even use more than one formation if McAdoo is feelin really bold with it. :whoo:

Tomlinson is going to eat next to Snacks, so long as his knees hold up.

Webb is Ryan Mallet or Brock Osweiler at best and won't amount to anything more than some fodder for NY media, but their third round track record is :trash:, so no one they picked there would probably work out anyway.

Gallman should provide some depth for the RBs. His skill set fits well with the run plays the Giants stick with.

Bonus points for giving Travis Rudolph a shot in the UDFA market.

Got a safety that's a good run stopper but read we want to play him over the top

Actually, his draft profile states that he is a "center-fielder".
2017 NFL Draft Profile: Marcus Williams

have no idea where he's going to fit in our defensive backfield with Vacarro and Bell who we've spent high picks on the past 3 years. 3 safety look? So I'm confused:ld:

Vaccaro becomes a FA in 2018, so maybe they are expecting him and Vonn to be our future FS-SS combo. :patrice:

And we got another pass rusher who didn't play last year but played well the yeat before and has potential :francis:

If he could give us Juneyah's pass-rushing production without the off-field fukkery :whoa:, we will be straight.

His instincts are average and he lacks that playmaking ability :yeshrug:

These boys called themselves misfits last year. I ain't saying he's great but Quinn likes him enough that he didn't see a need to get another starter in a safety heavy draft. You can't have all stars at every position on the field. He was rarely out of position when he was on the field last year. The secondary got better as the season went on and he is a main reason why.

He's fitting the bill and that's what matters most. No need to upgrade what's not a liability with other issues on the field.

I love the Taco Charleton pick especially after Barnett and Charles Harris were drafted well before the 28th pick, but there were other players we could've selected in the 2nd,4th rds.

In any case I just hope they perform on the field when called upon.

Pro for the Jets, they got some nice pick ups and gave themselves extra picks to increase the youth with trades down.

Con for the Jets, Two Safeties and 2 WR's early meant big needs went either unaddressed entirely or addressed with players that are far from sure things.

Grade - C, I didn't hate this draft but it went from really exciting after day one to "meh" by day three. The fact that we were never gonna pick enough players to be a problem this season with so many holes most importantly at QB means Mac could afford to take some risks with the hope that he can address more needs with high picks next off season. So it's almost like this grade is an incomplete as next year's draft and decisions will have an impact on how I view this year's selections. So for now, average grade...C.

This is probably the best write up I've seen on Allen from The Falcaholic

What can be considered is drafting a possible upgrade at a key spot in Dan Quinn’s defense. Ricardo Allen has developed into a steady starter. The former fifth round pick is a consistent tackler, who possesses great awareness and overall instincts. His strong work ethic deserves praise as well.

The Falcons’ defense is filled with promising young talent. There aren’t many positions that could be upgraded at the moment. Drafting six productive defensive starters or key contributors in the past two seasons makes it difficult for a team to bring in new starters. It can be argued that free safety could use some competition based on Allen’s ceiling. He doesn’t have great speed or size for the position. That can be an issue under Quinn’s Cover 3 scheme.

Allen can only cover so much ground at such a demanding position. With an inconsistent pass rush and inexperienced back seven, coverage breakdowns are bound to occur. Allen was rarely responsible for the big plays being allowed. There weren’t many moments that showed him making up for a teammate’s mistake. This may be viewed as a harsh critique. When you are playing as a single high safety, there are going to be instances when the safety needs to make or prevent a big play.

Unless it was making a touchdown saving tackle, Allen didn’t make those particular plays. The third-year safety is a disciplined player that knows how to do his job. Can he cover acres of space and develop into a playmaker? That doesn’t seem to be the case, which is why Quinn may look to replace him. Many people like to bring up Earl Thomas, who Quinn coached for two seasons in Seattle. It would take an extraordinary player to replicate what Thomas can do in coverage. It’s not about finding the next Thomas. It’s about finding a capable single-high center fielder that has range and fits their agenda of wanting athletic specimens.

Allen is going to be a restricted free agentin 2018. That will likely keep him in Atlanta, but it may not guarantee a starting job. There has been some discussion about moving Brian Poole to free safety. A hard-hitting corner that excels in zone coverage could make the transition. Regardless of how the coaching staff moves forward, drafting a free safety in the third or fourth round would be a reasonable decision. Add competition to a position that could use some actual depth. It could lead to finding a playmaker that adds another special element to the Falcons’ rapidly improving defense.

Ricardo is a solid if not spectacular player. I think the team likes him but isn't in love with him. I think this draft we went after our biggest needs (DE, G, LB) but I don't think the team looks at Ricardo and says "he's good enough so we'll leave it alone". I think the chatter about drafting a S and the Eric Berry talk this offseason shows that the team would like to get better at FS

B for the Texans

Obviously I'm excited about the Deshaun Watson pick. Zack Cunningham has a chance to replace Brian Cushing at ILB and D'Onta Foreman will be a nice 1/2 Punch with Lamar Miller.

My only complaint is I think we shouldve went DB earlier in the draft. Jonathan joseph getting older, Kareem Jackson getting slower, and Kevin Johnson coming off of injury. Not to mention we lost AJ Bouye to free agency.
I feel like we good at DB especially Kevin Johnson. I would have liked if we tried to improve the line
