Nah, get rid of McGee, sign Tristian Thompson to the midlevel exception if he doesn't cash out on the Wizards or something.

Based on his interviews recently with Cowherd it sounds like he's missing winning, and Lebron.... :lolbron:

Interesting:jbhmm:

How has he looked post-Bron cuz I’ve barely seen him play. I’m willing to risk if it’s good. McGee’s one upside is he has tenure so if nothing else there’s no learning curve at all.

But very interesting....:jbhmm:

He averaged 12 and 10 and hit 39% on wide open threes (on low volume) :ehh:

Just so were clear....you guys know lakers will have a hard time running back the same rotation group AND get upgrade right?

Rondo will be a FA
Most likely so will bradley
Most likely so will kcp
DH will be a FA
KEEF is a free agent

Some of these guys boosted their value...hopefully years on the contract and ring chasing will be enough or its back to the bottom of the barrel (well they can also sign AD last)
KCP is the biggest priority imo. I can live with them losing Rondo, he's going to be 35 and who knows if he can replicate his production from this playoffs. I think the time off helped him a lot since he came back faster.

Problem with losing Rondo is you lose the ability to have someone Bron trusts to take the ball out of his hands.

Its why Bron was fresher and didnt force as many turnovers as he use too.

Only way you're cool with losing Rondo is if you think Caruso is ready for heavier mins/playmaking.

Idk what the market is looking like but I'd target another ball-handler for the minimum. Maybe someone like DJ Augustin.

Also, to be clear I definitely want Rondo back but I'm prepared for some regression.

Yea DJ is too much like typical Bron pgs though. Bron would just rather him be catch and shoot.

The guy is probably Collison, but that ship seems to have sailed.

NBA Execs See LeBron's Influence over Lakers Leading to a Chris Paul Trade

"Chris Paul would love to come back to L.A. I know it would be a dream come true for Chris," an Eastern Conference executive said. "I know LeBron loves and trusts him and he would be a good fit."

Paul would give the Lakers a third scorer and playmaking depth, especially if they retain Rajon Rondo, who also plans to opt out, per Charania. The challenge would be the two years, $85.6 million left on Paul's contract (he can opt out of the final season but isn't likely to, given the $44.2 million payday).

If James set his sights on Paul, the Lakers would have to send out five players: Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green and Quinn Cook, along with Avery Bradley and JaVale McGee, who need to opt into their contracts to be dealt. L.A. would also need to send its No. 28 pick in November's draft, signing that player before waiting 30 days to execute a deal in which the Lakers would offload almost $33 million in players salaries.

Isn't that too much of an upheaval for a team that just won a title?

"It seems like a risk, but sometimes you need to [execute big moves] to make yourself even better," the executive continued. "The [Golden State] Warriors will be better. The [Los Angeles] Clippers may be better. The [Denver] Nuggets aren't going to get worse. Your competition is getting better. It worked [in Orlando] for the Lakers, but I don't know if you have a normal regular season without the bubble if it does."

I wouldn't even play Rondo till the playoffs tbh

CP3 is a great player, but it's too risky. He's expensive, old and injury prone

Caruso is not good enough playmaking or shooting yet
