I got no problem with this. I never understood that Gasol buyout talk. Especially with AD out. Not unless its to free up a roster spot to bring a shooter in.Why can't we just have them both when we need a floor spreader we put in gasol if not we play drum ...?

This. Neither player is ideal, both have some strengths. If the coaches do it right there will be a place for both players. Why can't we just have them both when we need a floor spreader we put in gasol if not we play drum ...?

Got damn yall done with Drum already![]()
Morris playing well would be a game-changer cause he's the only guy other than the stars that I would trust to guard elite forwards. If Lakers have to run through MPJ/Kawhi/PG13/Durant, it will help a ton to have someone you trust to guard those guys for at least part of the game and free up Bron/AD to get a breather or play team defense, without that same player being a liability on the offensive end.A much-needed win by the Lakers, but I'm not going to get overconfident or too giddy over the last 3 wins. These are games we should've won.
* I love the way Morris is playing. He adds a level of toughness to the starting lineup. He's scored double digits in 11 of 17 gms as a starter. Not bad for the 4th/5th option.
* Great game by Kuzma. Hopefully, he continues to score 20 ppg while Lebron/AD are out and raises his trade value in the process.
* Solid game by Schroder, but I still wouldn't pay his ass 20m per season.
let drum play a full game first
If Gasol wasn't so terrible on D and the glass they would have never brought Drum in.

If/when Bron and AD come back, I wouldn't even run a single play for Drummond. I would just tell him to work his ass off to get offensive boards and either put it back in or start up the possession again. He could play that super pesky role like TT in the 2015 Finals, where you spend 23 seconds forcing the other team into a bad shot only to have it wiped out by yet another offensive board. He makes the spacing worse but teams might even get afraid to exploit that if they know that running off Drummond to challenge the shooter will only lead to an unopposed Drummond swiping up the rebound and putting it back in.
Defense is the big question. Hopefully with AD being the rim protector and Bron covering the lanes, all they need from Drummond is to swipe up defensive boards and keep the other team from getting any 2nd chances. But I could see him getting exploited by the right team.
Just gotta hope Drummond can provide value as a switch defender, rim protector and offensive rebounder. I agree overall though, I don't think he's a clear upgrade over Gasol. IQ, passing, and shooting at the center position is hard to find and Gasol was great in lineups with AD and Bron. Spacing is going to be an issue with Drummond inserted in the starting lineup but I guess its a gamble worth taking because of his defensive potential. Bron has made worse players than Drummond look like all-stars.The Lakers have one of the lowest second chance points against totals in the league. Their defense has also been solid with him on the floor.
Drummond isn't that good.![]()

And the right point on Kuzma - his history just plain suggests that he can't sustain this play when other players are the focus on the offense. He's just trade value at the moment.
We could keep them both...
Does Trezz play the 4? If he doesn't then he should that way we can keep Gasol and Drum backing each other up at the 5
