I still dont know why they gave Kuzma that extension

I said at the time it was a terrible play unless they were planning on trading it. Haven't regretted that take at all.

LA was already over the salary cap. There was no cap space to sign another player...Kuzma's contract extension was the Laker's last signing of the offseason.

Kuzma was already signed for this year, so giving him the extension didn't help the Lakers for this year unless they were willing to trade him.

The signing fukks them over for the next two years, when they had space available that's now gone.
