No he hasn’t, that shyt was said by dumb fans because he wasn’t giving highlight reels and they can’t tell impact beyond that. He played his role, him being out there spaces the floor, he was a good secondary playmaker to Bron and our defense was elite with him. Drummond is giving none of this and trying to post up like Embiid, he should get zero touches like Dwight last year.

It never made any sense to put blame on gasol when offense was the #1 issue all along, now you got bad offense and defense. Pelinka messed up here, he just needed to sign an insurance big instead he got in big name chasing. He also put the coaching staff in a bad position where you have to deal with 3 guys who all want mins, unnecessary drama.

Hopefully Vogel gets some sense before it’s too late.
The Lakers defense was still killing shyt defensively after they put Drummond in place starting as well while AD and Lebron were out. The reality is that AD hasn't been anywhere close to his old self and has drug the team down since his come back. Placing the blame on Drummond I think is the wrong place to look. I think the reality is working both Lebron and AD back into the lineup at the same time while neither are their old selves is just too much with the current group. Marc Gasol could theoretically be a floor spacer but doesn't shoot near enough to scare teams with his shooting. Gasol is also a huge defensively liability come playoff time as we saw last year where teams were able to target him in pick and rolls. Drummond is better in that regard even though he's much worse at overall team defense than Gasol. Both bigs have huge pluses and negatives.

I think Marc makes more sense with the second unit as they can run the offense through him and use him to generate looks when Lebron isn't on the floor. The key to all of this is really just Lebron and AD looking close to their old selves and the rest will fall into place. Drummond has been a disappointment as he's not the smartest defender and doesn't always know where he's supposed to be on the floor and you can see him thinking through his defensive decisions instead of just reacting which leaves him out of place a lot. But his offensive rebounding and rim protection can prove valuable defensively in the playoffs.

Hope breh is alright though :dame:
It isn’t the first time he was in protocols either. This time it’s the real covid timetable tho. Dude selfish as fukk. Probably one of those types that think covid isn’t real. 10-14 days means he was doing some shyt he shouldn’t have been doing

I honestly don't feel confident in Lakers winning a chip this year, unless a miracle happens. :lupe:

The Lakers defense was still killing shyt defensively after they put Drummond in place starting as well while AD and Lebron were out.

The defensive number was greatly skewed by the number of depleted teams we played.

Toronto (No Lowry, Vanvleet, Hood, McCaw, Watson, Harris)
Cleveland (No Sexton, Love, Drummond)
Orlando (No Vucevic,Gordon, Fournier)
Charlotte (No Rozier,Hayward,Ball,Monk, Wahington)
Utah (No Gobert, Mitchell, Conley, Favors)

Drummond's performance vs Utah with/without Gobert was night/day.

27p/8r on 10-15fg vs 8p/8r on 3-12fg

-said he's only gonna be happy if he's a starter before the trade even got completed
-covid protocol
-terrible shooting
-inconsistent play
-lackluster energy
-covid protocol #2
-throws bron under the bus
