Howard wasn't just a very good backup who afforded AD the opportunity to play against smaller less physical players. He was also an insurance policy in case AD went down with an injury

In the 9 gms AD DNP Howard avg- 11.2p, 9.5r in only 21.6 mpg...LA went 6-3 without AD last season....D.Howard had a lot to do with that good record.

I’m assuming gasol can duplicate that?
