Still an elite post defender.. He'll provide value against bigs like Jokic and Embiid. By virtue of his IQ, shooting ability, passing and defense he's an upgrade over Javale and Dwight imo even if he's a few steps slower.

I've have not seen that sentiment at all. Gasol's biggest strength right now is his size. But thats what we need so we will see what happens.

He's definitely not a upgrade over Dwight on the defensive end. Dwight had better instincts and even though he loss a step he was still very athletic for a big man. This dude Gasol was barely able to move in the bubble. I know he will be good against the occasional big like Embiid but can he grind though most of the regular season so AD doesn't have to play Center? I guess that's what they have Trez for though?
