They cant trade trezz... its the kind if deal that u do...u have to honor...honestly.. they a championship squad...picking another center is all they need.
bball is a business, brothers get traded every day. :yeshrug:

If Trez isn't fitting into the rotation then he might kill their chances at a ring AND his own value, and where would that leave him? If he doesn't work out (notice the "if"), then trading him could be a favor. He still hasn't gotten his big contract and will be almost 29 when he signs his next one, that's basically his last chance to secure the bag if that's important to him.

One other thing that can't be forgotten. These are playoff minutes from last year:

AD: 37 minutes/game
LBJ: 36 minutes/game
KCP: 29 minutes/game
Caruso: 24 minutes/game
Kuzma: 23 minutes/game
Morris: 18 minutes/game

Plus THT/Cook/Dudley

Even with the new additions, that's a nice core of players who now have far better chemistry together than they did when the 19/20 season started, and who all have serious playoff and Finals experience now. If they stay healthy it's gonna be a much more comfortable situation than it was last year. It would likely be even better if they had Dwight and Rondo too, but it didn't work out that way.

This is the most perplexing part of the offseason for me. Trez is talented and AD is the defensive stopper inside so maybe they'll find a way to make it work well...but it didn't seem like the need for Trez was there.

I wish they would have resigned Cousins instead of Cook, but they know DMC's status better than anyone else so I just have to assume that he still doesn't look ready.

My favorite part of the offseason for the Lakers is getting KCP and Morris resigned. That was absolutely crucial. We'll see on the rest of it - in a best-case scenario they're stacked, but in a worst-case scenario you can imagine Gasol being washed leaving a big hole at center, Schroeder not working out well, Matthews not hitting his shots or getting burned on defense...

Now that the team has Schroeder, Matthews, and Trez in addition to Bron/AD/KCP/Morris/Caruso, what the hell is Kuzma's role? I don't see what he adds to the team. Makes me wonder if they're just gonna give Kuz and Trez a bunch of burn early while Bron and AD take time off, then considering a midseason Kuz/Trez/Cook package for an elite 3-and-D (perhaps with picks and/or THT if necessary), and maybe hoping to pick up another center off waivers.

This was truly as close to perfect an “offseason” as they could have asked for. The only thing that would have put it over the top is resigning Howard but no time to even look back at that.

This is truly a CHAMPIONSHIP team. I don’t see how they fail to make a second straight finals.

U over thinking it

Trezz is a career 61% from the field guy. I’m sure our guy can make him useful in the regular season:smugbiden:

Yeah I’m pretty confident that either Kuz, Shroder or Trez will be traded by the deadline unless everything goes overwhelming well. I wouldn’t mind trading Kuz for someone like Mo Bamba Or Mitch Robinson

Injuries breh. The Lakers have an old star and a historically brittle star. They were blessed to make it through last season, but that demon can always surface.

Other possibility is LeBron taking a step back (especially on defense) and the Lakers just not being able to guard a team like the Clippers if Lou/Kawhi/PG13 actually play as they're capable of.
