I remember nikkaz was sayin they didnt wanna hear jon brion's work on Ye's albums. Funny, when LR is easily one of Kanye's best albums.

But yeah, mike dean been in the game for a while. He got a lot of money from his uncle, jimmy dean (the sausage nikka), which is how he got all his production equipment

:russ: :russ: at the second paragraph

Mike Dean did those parts cuz that's his style, a lot of strings and pianos and harmonies, if you listen to a lot of Kanye newer shyt you can tell. Plus he's credited, so since he didn't do the beat than he did like a bridge or outro or something.

But the 320 rip been out breh, not sure if it's been posted or not

Dogg Food had me thinkin' Daz was the second best producer on the West Coast in '95. That album is fukkin' timeless!!

:ohlawd:

You can't forget Dre had a lot of involvement in that record, his beats lost a lot of life on Revenge Retaliation & Get Back to me. Would love to see them work together again. The Chronic, Doggystyle and Dogg Food, what a trifecta.

You never know who did what... it could just be some uncredited person doing all the parts

you never really know unless they say

the 320 is prolly a phone/tablet rip cuz the retail CD's not out... unless someone already got a stolen copy... I'll just wait for iTunes :patrice:

Yeah, Dre said he did pretty much all of the mixing. I thought he did the actual beats back then. When I copped it, I didn't even know Daz was behind the boards. "Let's Play House" sounded like some Dre shyt to me.

I think Dre was done with them out there at that point though. He didn't hit Pac with shyt! LOL!! Dude gave him like 2 beats. I really wanted that Pac and Dre album!! Whew!! That would've been CRAZY!!

Yeah, those three albums cemented that label as untouchable back then.

According to the release info, it's an iTunes rip :yeshrug: It's the version I've been listening to and it sounds way better than the app rip.

it's got the correct iTunes identifiers and all that? like explicit tags, the label info, etc.

Dre definitely ghost produced a couple tracks on there in my opinion, but a Dre mix is like a boost of steroids so you never know.

Yeah he definitely wasn't fukking with Tha Row at that point, gave Pac a Dogg Food leftover and Suge basically stole his next single in California Love lol. The California Love remix was some fly shyt though!

Hopefully one day we'll get to hear what he was working on then for Chronic 2 and Helter Skelter.

Those Dre vaults are so damn secured. I doubt we'll ever hear any of that shyt. That dude takes his music so seriously, he doesn't want people hearin' anything that he doesn't think meets a certain standard. I'm not mad at him for that, but as a fan, it sucks.

I don't even like thinkin' about all the music he's holding onto, that we'll never hear.

Without Mike Dean, Kanye's beats wouldn't be shyt?
I think it's more reasonable to assume that without Kanye, Mike Dean wouldn't be shyt.

Still here to appreciate, even though I can't agree with 80% of the appreciation post.

Kanye has been schooling him on that East Coast/Mid West/Kanye West production tip.
He's been working for Kanye as an engineer since Kanye came in the game to mixing to additional production to as of lately full production credits mainly playing instruments and mixing.

You can say he didn't do that much for Kanye, but you definitely can't say he wouldn't be shyt without Kanye. Mike Dean made his mark in the game before we ever even heard of Kanye.

Mike Dean is the dude who adds all the dope bridges and little instruments on Kanye's tracks.

Recently he did work on Magna Carta Holy Grail w/ Somewhere in America & Crown. He did the outro to those two songs, which are without a doubt two of the best moments on the album. :wow:

Without Mike Dean, Kanye's beats right now wouldn't be shyt. He is responsible for the subtleties and dope harmonies and melodies Kanye has in most of his songs. He also mixes and masters a lot of Kanye's shyt as well.

Dating back though, he worked with a lot of southern rappers (Geto Boys, UGK, Z-Ro, Devin the Dude, etc.)

Look him up on Wikipedia for his producer credits

Shut up dummy :smughov:
