He gets much respect for taking an average Indy team on paper, and had them as the elites year after year in that conference......Even though Larry Bird lead them to the finals, before leaving:birdman:

Rick is one of the leagues best hands down, my only issue with him is his head scratching substitution patterns, but :manny: he sticks to his guns and constantly has his teams formidable

Being lost in all this I think is Thibs though. He's right up there with Pop and Carlisle as the best coaches in the game. Doc and Adelman probably round out my top 5.

Those were two completely different teams.

The only coaches in the L better than Rick Carlisle

Doc Rivers
Popavich
arguably George Karl

but true he rarely gets mentioned as an elite coach.

George Karl is not in the league of Rick Carlisle.

I personally think Rick, Doc and Pop are the best. Thibs nipping at their heels. Haven't had a chance to study Mark Jackson yet, but it looks promising. Terry Stotts is underrated. He's always been stuck with bad teams. Probably shoulda never been fired from the Hawks. I've had issues with Larry Drew, but he's done an amazing job this year. Doug Collins might be knowledgable, but that does not mean he is a great coach. He aight.

Collins??????????:pachaha:

You mean Rivers

As far as knowledge of the game, Doug Collins is there with ANYBODY in the history of this league.

Now when you bring in the other factors of coaching and all of the intangibles, Doug Collins isn't a tier one coach.

That's my second best coach in the NBA :to:

Shoutout to that boy Dirk still making it look easy out there. 33-9, 57% shooting.
Blake Griffin trying to check him in OT :heh:

Only problem i have with him is the limited amount of minutes he gives roddy buckets and his unnecessary time outs. He calls so many useless timeouts and its cost the mavs a couple of games because it'll be a 1 possession game and they'll be out of TO's.
