I feel like time travel was solved way too fast. I feel like marvel did really well at planting the seeds for the upcoming problem of thanos but didn't do well at doing the same thing for the solution that would ultimately be the catalyst to defeating him.

Ive watched both at least 7-8 times each

Both are classic superhrro movies. I feel like Endgame has the edge with the emotion it brings out of you espicially if you were fully invested in the MCU

Endgame, from a fan of the movies, I think it was successful. It did fan service for the "movies" correctly. It felt like a series finale; they recalled popular events and tied up the arcs for 4 of the most popular characters.

From a fan of the comics, it didn't redeem or tie up everyone as they should've.
  • Hulk didn't get a proper arc. No explanation unless you use YouTube on how he became Professor Hulk.
  • Thor didn't really get a proper arc.
  • Captain Marvel shouldn't have been that powerful.
  • It doesn't seem to have properly set up the future of the universe.
  • Outside of Black Panther, there doesn't seem to be a universally loved protagonist, and even with him having the highest grossing solo film, he doesn't seem to be the one the studio is choosing to take the series into the future.
There's other things, but these are the most glaring mistakes in my opinion. Endgame is still a great movie, it just didn't complete some key elements that IW set up.

Infinity War finally had stakes that people had been asking for, for years. There was drama, loss, tension building and ultimately a protagonist that lived up to everything he was in the comic books.

If I was producing, Hulk would've turned WW Hulk and beat Thanos's ass after he found out Black Widow was dead and he did the snap. Tony still could've finished things, but Hulk needed to hand Thanos a fight.

I also thought Thor should've become King of Asgard.

Far from Home didn't really make it seem like some world changing event happened. I get that its Disney...but these guys are going on a field trip like nothing even happened.

No new characters should've gotten the spotlight, it should've been all IM, CA, BW, HE, SW, Hulk and Thor's show. With everyone else doing tertiary shyt.

I would've also teased a villain looming larger than Thanos *cough* Galactus *cough ever so slightly. There didn't need to be an end credit scene, just a more thorough explanation of the multiverse and some exposition on Thanos and how exactly he went mad and determined that killing half of life in the universe was the right thing to do.

I don’t think Endgame was a failure but there was few things they dropped the ball on or should have included:

1. Cap and Red Skull should have interacted one more time for the soul stone

2. The Thanos-Hulk rematch should have went down

3. They should have continued Thors ascension. He was powering up after ragnorak. Fat Thor negated that IMO

4. Hulk should have been with Cap, Ironman and Thor when they confronted Thanos as the OG crew

5. The rumors about Nova showing up would have been good as Infinity War didn’t fully flesh out how Thanos destroyed Xandar

6. A new villain should have introduced or teased

Infinity war had more action. Thats why its considered the "better movie". Even though without each other they arent complete. Endgame had better acting, drama, iconic moments and was more of a graphic novel than a comic book movie. It dealt with the toll the snap put on the world and because of this tone its not as rewatchable as inifinity war which is why ppl love IW more. Which i get and i will say i've seen IW way more as well but i love endgame. Just seeing how shook up thanos made our heroes was enough to put it in the upper echelon. Plus the fact that it brought every comic book wet dream to life in those last 30min. You cant hear "avengers.....assemble" without going :wow:. I give em both a 10 :manny:

The thing is, Infinity War is a complete movie. We have build up, climax, and an end. Infinity War could literally be the last movie Marvel ever made and it would be a concrete ending.

The thing is, we would all lose our collective shyt if they did that. The vast majority of people wouldn't be able to deal with the bad guy truly winning. Psychos like me would be losing their shyt because the bad guy actually won and we've been waiting for something like that for the longest:mjlit:

Endgame is dependent on Infinity War to give weight and relevance to everything that happens in the movie. Infinity War is it's own thing.

I....guess. I'd have hella questions but im guessing you're the type that likes movies and shows like that. I'd trade your villain winning ending for the end of endgame any day of the week. Breh was really gonna be cool with having black panther for only one movie :heh:

We all like, and expect, feel good endings. Lord knows we don't get them enough in real life. Look at what DC just did with Apokolips War. That shyt was depressing as fukk, because that's not what we expect. Of course I'm happy with how things ended, but my main point was about how IW wasn't dependent on Endgame as it has a clear ending: Thanos kicking back, sipping on some D'Usse, patting himself on the back for a good day's work:mjlit:

I pretend endgame doesn't exist. I kick back with Thanos, that's how you end a franchise. :win:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
The whole time travel shyt was wack, it bogged down the movie. Mainly because those sequences weren’t serious and just fan service stuff for common folk

like what is the consequence of Cap telling crossbones hail hydra. That’s some wild shyt just to throw in a film for laughs. The Robert Redford cameo was dope though. Didn’t think he had it in him to still do it.

The black widow , Hawkeye soul stone scene was groan inducing. Skipping all of hulks transitioning :dame: and then wasting all that screen time with him joking around was cringe.

Them having no memory of the erase was a cop out.
The opening scene of spiderman far from home basically shrugged it all off.

The dread and dispear in Infinity War was legendary. IW Thanos was 1985 Unicron status, end game thanos was borderline Batman & Robin villain status.

I do think it was mistake to not have a movie ready to go after spider-man. Not counting COVID , that’s a long gap in between movies.
You've said most of what I was gonna say, so I'm gonna rock with everything you said...

Infinity War was the movie that Marvel COMIC fans been waiting for.. Not the story.. THE MOVIE.. None of that campy bullshyt. None of the corny jokes, except when it truly fit the character. No time for set up. No time for intros. You either know the story and the characters or you didn't....

Got it jumping right off with Thor and Hulk getting punished... B-b-b-b-but how'd they get ther....... Shut up.. We here now. Who's the black g.... How's he making that rainb.... Who's the wiz......

Nah... It was scene to scene, either meeting up and a quick talk, then action... Or action and then a quick talk.. From start to finish. Real deaths. No plot armor. Real villains who were giving out the beats.. Everything lived up to what we could imagine. What we'd been begging for

Then they went straight back to Marvel MOVIE formula for Endgame. Literally revisiting the same ass scenes to double up on the formula. Lets you give you the Cap moment, but with two Caps, and make him talk about his own ass.. Lets make hulk go back to where everyone fell in love with him, but show him fake being mad this time, rah rah rahing while he fake smashes stuff.......

You can't put that genie back in the bottle. I don't ever want to see another Marvel movie if we not getting more IW and less EG

It was no tension in the time traveling section unless you wanna say black widow n hawkeye but we just saw that with thanos n gomorra they could have done more like stopped her from finding the map stop loki from sending odin away couldve still had thor get stombreaker while having his hammer as well only moments people talk about is something around the final battle nothing else
