there are gay comic book characters..BP is NOT one of them...i swear if I see some bullshyt in MCU from characters who do that and its not in the comics im going to be pissed

i just dont understand the nonsense

The bold is the big irony in this. The way some of the proponents of the hashtag are talking, you would think that there aren't any gay characters in comics--especially in Marvel--and that they aren't known within comic book circles.

I'm all for LGBT representation but LGBT fans should be pushing for the inclusion of gay characters (Wiccan, Ms. America Chavez, Northstar, etc) into mediums like netflix, TV shows, and/or the MCU. That makes far more sense and will be much more beneficial for them in the long run.

Pushing to change the sexuality of established characters, especially those with very long history, is an ineffective approach. All it will result in is a lot of push back from fans and Marvel eventually ignoring it altogether as a result.

I don't get this fukkin generation man:why:

I'm a man of diversity but if you make Rogers, Panther or any of them gay it's gonna fukk up the continuity of the characters stories like wtf man

I'm sick and tired of this forced gay and interracial ideals in media. Spread diversity but stop trying to force it. I'm a man of diversity and gay rights of coarse and believe in equal opportunity and rights but don't try and control everything

Cap was deeply in love with agent Carter before she died. You make him gay doesn't that go against the idea that being gay is NOT a choice? Since Steve would be changing his sexuality on his own?

Panther was MARRIED to a woman (storm) and in old 80a comics he made passes at Invisible Woman while she was married

Scott lang is divorced and has a daughter

It would make more sense to create a new character, give em a great storyline, hardships, and make em relatable with their story of being gay. Look at Kamala Kahn in Ms.Marvel. Chic straight up hated being a brown girl and Muslim and wanted to be a blonde cac :snoop:but as the story progressed she learned a lesson in self worth and pride in her heritage. Whole family a traditional Muslim family and all that and the comic went on to be successful.

People are so corny

Ultimately, they want to be represented in the major mediums. Nothing wrong with that at all. Black fans wanted the same for a minute and we have it via various characters.

The thing is, the lgbt fans will be far better off pushing for the lgbt characters getting some good shine. Black fans, for example, have been pushing black characters to get some shine, such as Black Panther, Luke Cage, Sam Wilson, etc. As a result, they have been shown in either the MCU or a netflix show.

LGBT fans trying to change the sexuality of established characters, rather than pushing for the actually lgbt characters to get that shine, will yield little results. Like I said, all they'll get is a lot of :camby: from the general public (which is happening) and Marvel ultimately being real:yeshrug: about it as a result (which will happen).

Funny enough, a character like America Chavez can def be poppin in this day and age. LGBT fans should start having more faith in their characters and push for them to be included.

I'm not. All I compared was how two groups approached the topic of representation.

Black fans fought for black characters to get some shine, and it yielded results via Black Panther, Falcon, Luke Cage, etc, being in major mediums.

I'm saying that lgbt fans should be pushing for lgbt characters to get some shine as well, instead of trying to change the sexuality of established characters. Trying to change the sexuality of established characters is an ineffective approach that will yield little to no result, as well as getting backlash from fans and ultimately be ignored by Marvel.
