A new character doesn't have an established fanbase and outside of white liberal circle jerks, there's no demand for most of the stuff they complain about. Homosexuals make up a small percent of the population, a new character who is a Mexican armadillo other-kin aimed at gays is not going to be able to reach millions of eyes(and disgust the people that disagree with them on political matters, which is their main goal) like attaching their demands on something where all the work has been done and they can swoop in to try and claim victory like they do with everything else.
