Respectfully
As black men we should care
Our image has been dragged through the mud
For far too long
We are constantly told we are less than
Never measure up
Scared to be in committed relationships
Or
We are completely incapable of love
Marginalized and critiqued for voicing our opinions
Call ad hominems because we give our perspective on situations/not cow towing-kissing ass
Manhood is questioned everyday
Told we are not protectors/providers
This is not just a formality of being “outraged”
It’s being tired of being attacked
Tired of women ignoring solid brehs
Tired of women blaming us for their shytty decisions
Tired of women controlling the whole narrative
Especially when it comes to colorism
I can tell you all kinds of fukked up shyt
Said to me as a kid due to me being dark skinned
But that didn’t stop me from dating black women
It’s the perpetual role of victim/hypocrisy
And just because you have been lucky
Not to experience disdain from some black women in your life
Trust and believe this rhetoric is floating around out here
It’s not just social media
And let’s say hypothetically this shyt is only regulated/encapsulated to the internet
Due to anonymity
The message is still strong enough to influence a person offline
When people feel unseen/unheard
And their feelings are validated in any space or medium
How do the normally react
They go and recreate/project said feelings
Into the real world
How can men and women come together
When we keep attacking each other in derogatory ways
Constructive Criticism is fair game
Questioning ones logic is fair game
Just because somebody speaks in a certain tone
Doesn’t mean the message isn’t warranted
We have gotten to a place in society
Where men can’t vocally express themselves
Due to fear of backlash
While women can just run amuck
Unchecked with no consequences
Which they don’t realize
Is hurting them/their cause
Of being seen and heard
Brehs are already opting out of relationships because they see, read and hear the rhetoric 24/7
At least when I was growing up
It was sporadic in nature as far as the media
So you had a chance to escape the deluge of
“black men ain’t shyt”message
But now young boys-young men
Are inundated with this message
Before they have any real chance or shot to begin life
Which breeds apathy/contempt/bytches ain’t shyt/you going to pay for a past I didn’t have shyt to do with
If you can’t see how dangerous the messaging is

But I know this post
On the COLI reads
YOU JUST A bytch

YOU HATE BLACK WOMEN
