But like others have pointed out also, you have to set a cap otherwise its "subway surfers" for an hour+
Shout out to the fellow parents on thecoli :salute:

The only way I'd say might have to set a cap is if they're really young (like 3) and or you can see some sort of addictive tendencies in them and they're not getting what they need to do done. Otherwise, outside of that and bedtime (for when they're still at the ages to require that) to the bushes with a cap.

My mom used the belt to make me leave her alone. Hit me with the :childplease: and "Why don't you read a book?!"
Haitian parents too cheap to buy expensive electronics so their kids can stay out of sight. :heh:

I don't plan on having kids but I wouldn't negotiate with them either... fukk kids.

i disagree with your philosophy. giving kids too much leisure makes them complacent or entitled which is the worst.

LOL @ you and your parents having to assign your silly ass a set # of hours for gaming as a kid! And only on weekends at that.:heh:
As long as you are respectful and do what you need to be done (in school/house/etc.), that shyt is hardly necessary. I went out side damn near whenever and played games damn whenever for as long as I wanted, long as those rules were followed. fukk your "childhood".
I think it's beneficial limiting kids from gaming like that though. Especially during the week...

If you say they can't play til their homework is done, they'll probably just rush through that shyt to get to the games.

Depends on the kid in question. Complacency and entitlement issues can be nipped in the butt real early, just depends on the kid and what you do then.

I like how a lot of ya'll without kids think ya'll know best in this matter though.

THat's when you get involved in their homework with them and spot check that shyt. Let them know that they're just wasting their time and yours by rushing thru and are not getting their leisure time any faster with sloppy work. Or just the same, you can let them rush thru their work and show them how that won't pay off in the long run when they get a bad report card and you take their games away from them. That's how I was raised and how I'm raising my neice currently. She's been on the honor damn near the whole time since living with us and was 1 grade away from straight A's.
