Not a huge Kendrick fan, turned pimp a ...off once he started with the weird voices, only heard parts of section 80... But saying that, this is a fine album, very enjoyable, and sing about me is an amazing track.

Troll thread though obviously.

Let me be honest: it's a decent album, and perhaps compared with some of the other slop out there these days it looks better than what it really is. I think a lot of this backlash, people saying it was completely trash, comes from how hyped GKMC was. It wasn't all that and people talked about how he's better than 2Pac :childplease:

So this sort of thing where people say it's a fukking terrible album is only because of Kendrick stans talking a whole heap of bullshyt about him and GKMC.

I wouldn't go as far as some of the posts in here I dapped, I have to admit when GKMC first dropped I thought it was really good. But it definitely has not held up well since then and it hasn't even been five years yet. So anybody saying it's one of the greatest west coast records needs to :camby: with that

I think sometimes people get caught up in the hype. They too quick to go overboard.

I don't think the album is 1 of the worst I've heard or terrible but as far as being 1 of the best Hip Hop albums ever I never felt like that at all, not close. And saw people saying some pretty bold statements like that at the time, never felt the music justified that kind of praise, I've never enjoyed the album.

This is why you shouldn't big up albums to quick to a certain category . When this dropped everybody was acting like this was one if the best rap albums ever but now they look stupid.

Just go through the Tracklist the album is not good.

1. Sherane- :russell:

2. bytch dont kill my vibe- good

3. Backseat freestyle- :mjlol: I remember this came on at a party and everyone made the :dahell: face when Kendrick started yelling.

4. Peer pressure- :russell:

5. Money Trees- best song the album but that's cause of Jay Rock

6. :russell:

7. Good kid- :russell:

8. Mad city- Suburban dweebs like it but its :trash:

9. Swimming Pools- :ehh:

Rest was :trash: :trash::russell:

How the fukk did you get 8000 neg's? You must be intentionally shyt posting.

they looked stupid back then, too. we already know this album won't survive the 5 year mark. It'll get to 10 if it's really lucky

Here's the problem...

As long as you have that overhyped, fashionista half a homo in your avi, it's hard to take you serious.

The Art of Peer Pressure is a classic song fukk outa here

Great song. If you're a kid from the hood that was around the life but wasn't about it, you can definitely relate.

Never been a fan of this dude but I don't think he's some shyt. He has songs here and there but I cant listen to him consistently.

For me, GKMC is probably the album I relate to the most. I had homies who did all of the thug shyt but I was never into that life. I was too terrified of my grandmother to try anything. But every now and then I'd get caught out there tryna run the streets with them. While all of my homies was still in the streets, I left and went and joined the Navy.

Nah It's still one of my favorite projects from the modern era. I probably prefer Section.80 over it though.

I like GKMC more than Section 80 and that's not saying that Section 80 aint dope becuz it is. Like I said tho, I just relate to GKMC more.
