Uptown, NYC
Hip Hop is the only genre that divides itself up into locations and regions.

I'm from NYC, rep it crazily, but we really gotta stop doing that dumb sh*t.

Two things. People need to stop hating on NY 24/7. And we need to start paying more attention to what's dope and what's wack. F*ck where you're from. Too many dudes got on over the past 20 years just because they were from a place that was thriving, but they were trash.

All I see is the supposed most promising rapper from NY engaged in a rap battle with west coast rappers that people wouldn't even put in a top 20 west coast rappers right now. :mjlol:

If NY had more respect for music coming from other regions, if NY nikkas stopped acting like they were the center of the world, the city wouldn't be dying like this...instead, it is the only region in the whole US that failed to produce top new talents. shyt been dead for NY since the late 2000s.

The only nikkas in their feelings are NY nikkas, still feeling insecure because there's no such thing as NY hip hop in 2025.

NY hiphop ended it's impact when 50 was on top about 18 years ago now!

Since then the forerunners of the NYC movement didn't necessarily have the best bars or dopest lyrics which was NYC's calling card. You could always rely on the Top MC's of NY to hold that down but after 50 it seemed the look/story of the rapper was more Important. Which allowed the South takeover and etc. It was Kanye and 50 on top both non bar spitting rappers that shifted the culture.

NY has produced nothing but trash and it was even worst back then because now there are a few focal hiphop acts from NY that are nice but nah on the whole they dont even have a sound anymore. In my humble opinion :hubie:
