Damn NY dude fukked your chick in this past homie? Let it out man …. Pause

It's like Rico from Dungeon Family said, a lot of people have an inferiority complex when it comes to NY.

So they're mad about that and just hate on NY for being the sh*t. Even when the city is slow, there's bums hating on it. Sh*t is wild.

Hip Hop is the only genre that divides itself up into locations and regions.

Electronic dance music has done the same since inception tbh and fans get just as protective of their genres.

Chicago House, Chicago Footwork
Detroit/Berlin Techo
Ibiza/Balearic Trance
Goa Trance
Bristol Trip-Hop/Dubstep
London DnB/Garage/Dubstep
Italo Disco
Afrobeat
South Africa Kwaito
Rio de Janeiro Baile Funk
Miami Bass/Booty Bass
New York Freestyle, Disco and House
Netherlands Gabba
Netherlands/Belgium Hardstyle

Doesn't mean the genres don't get play across the planet, but as distinct styles they have always had home fields and you're far more likely to find clubs leaning to the local sounds/scenes in any of these places.

New York has been a non-factor in this era and its not going to change...lack of talent, lack of quality projects, lack of stars.
That new Dave East and Ransom and Cash Cobain last shyt better than anything from the West in the last year :mjlol:

All I see is the supposed most promising rapper from NY engaged in a rap battle with west coast rappers that people wouldn't even put in a top 20 west coast rappers right now. :mjlol:

If NY had more respect for music coming from other regions, if NY nikkas stopped acting like they were the center of the world, the city wouldn't be dying like this...instead, it is the only region in the whole US that failed to produce top new talents. shyt been dead for NY since the late 2000s.
There aren’t even 20 relevant West Coast rappers.

Outside of Kendrick and Tyler shyt is local as hell and most them nikkas suck and rap off beat. :mjlol:

But this is why it's dumb to do.

Because then we start getting into the regional sh*t again, and start going back and forth about how the music where I'm from, is better than the music where you're from. Not only is it childish, but it goes back to that plantation thinking. Hip Hop needs to just be on some sh*t where we just call out what's dope and what's trash. Not where it's from.

It's 2025. If we're still doing the dividing thing, then we haven't learned sh*t over the past almost 30 years. Common said in '96 that "too many n*ggas are fighting over land that they don’t even own a piece of". And it's true. It's corny to still be doing the regional back and forth sh*t. Makes the culture look stupid as a MF.
