I'm not mad at this anybody pretending to be needs to stop being weird...disagree w/her decision and move on

some of you cats are full grown ass men acting like this "bothers" you. :comeon:

didn't ludacris just have a super bowl ticket giveaway that everybody got excited for? let's be consistent.

Ludacris surprises Ron Clark Academy students with Super Bowl tickets

I ain't mad she singing at the Super Bowl- what "bothers" me is she clearly doesn't know the history of the national anthem-aint nothing about that song is about united "us" :comeon:

She need to worry about her restaurant passing inspection. I ate their a couple times when i was a kid. :scust:
After what i heard, i'm lucky to be alive.
I will not stand for any Gladys Knight Chicken and Waffles slander. The one in Lithonia was on point.

The smothered chicken and greens

:ohlawd:

But yeah she sounds crazy with this anthem talk.

You mean the same generation that actually fought for our civil rights/liberties, militarized themselves and literally put their lives on the line vs the current generation that post on message boards and twitter pump faking like they really about it

My problem isn't with her performing, do u. My issue is with her trying to pretend like the National Anthem was made with the intent of unifying this country. That song expresses SPECIFIC vitriol towards my ancestors who were slaves in this country.

This ain't nothing but c00ning, she could perform at the super bowl with out adding all that extra shyt about that evil song.

Exactly! Crazy how people are missing this simply cuz they don't agree with boycotting the NFL.

Same thing happened in the Travis Scott thread where Kaep's team blasted Scott for lying about getting "approval" from Kaep to perform. Coli brehs came in there chiding Kaep for policing who performs when that's not what was happening. He just ain't want his name falsely dragged into that as if he was on board. It wasn't about saying who can and can't perform.

Same idea here with Gladys Knight. She's tap dancing and lying to justify her choice, of course she should be called out on it.

Big Boi is performing too, I don't see crazy outrage over his decision.

I ate there back in 2009, and waited in the freezing drizzling light rain cold for an hour and an half just to be disappointed with the food. The service and the dessert was good, but everything else was trash.

i'm not caping for that song, but as a grown man of 36 years old that has heard the song literally thousands of times - i never even KNEW there was a 2nd or 3rd verse until a few years ago

again, since before ANYBODY reading this on this site was born, only the FIRST STANZA of that song is taught, and widely known as the national anthem...99.9% of people know this.

fast forward to this era, where race hustling on social media is the flavor of the month (mostly by white kids mind you), now all of a sudden we need to know that the entire poem has racial undertones to it...

again, if you're sitting over there fist balled up, frothing at the mouth, tears welling up in your eyes over this - you're a fukking weirdo. period. :camby:

noone is doing that :martin:...and just because you didn't know the history of the song- dont project what you dont know on others. BTW - even if someone doesn't know that...there is nothing wrong with learning from the past- should we not know the history of the song or just keep our heads in the sand

Again, those stanzas haven't been acknowledged, taught, or discussed in hundreds of years, EVEN BY WHITE PEOPLE.

if somebody told you to sing the ENTIRE SONG for 1 million dollars on the spot right this second, that would just be 1 million dollars you missed out on :russ:

it's overkill so people can come across as militant, angry, and intellectual...it's bullshyt. choose a more worthwhile battle.

and dare I start talking about christians and the old testament? let's be consistent sir. :coffee:

if you like being contrarian for the sake of doing so, have at it but knowing the racist origins of a song doesnt make you a militant or "angry" its calling knowing shyt, plain and simple
and if you are waiting for the majority of whites to acknowledge (many I assume do not know the history) the history of a song they salute and sing at every sporting event, then you aren't very bright

Most of us didn't know about the other verses until then, but you know now, so how could you claim that it was written "to unite us"? :gucci:

you must have learned your debate skills from a bazooka bubble gum wrapper just a few hours ago.

1) You're "upset" at stanzas in a song that haven't been taught or sung in literally hundreds of years. I'm not buying it.

2) I pointed out the fact that not even white people sing, teach, or know those stanzas either to help illustrate how dramatic you're being, it has nothing to do w/me.
