If that's your definition of the gay agenda then I definitely don't care, but I don't think that's what most people think when they think gay agenda. A black agenda would require most black Americans to be actually upset with their day to day reality when the sad fact is that they are not.

It's very much an ENSEMBLE cast with many protagonists. A protagonist is the leading character or one of the major characters in a drama, movie, novel, or other fictional text.

Piper Chapman is described as the protagonist in the show in every summary, description, and article detailing it. The only other character that is occasionally referred to as the secondary protagonist is the black female character "Taystee" who is straight. None of them ever refer to Suzanne as the protagonist as the show. Important character, sure, but not a protagonist. But, please do tell me how you know something that all of the professional analyst, critics, or even the creator who based the name of the protagonist off the woman who wrote the memoir from which the series is derived don't.

Uzo has won Several Emmys for her role as a black lesbian on the show. You asked for a major television show that featured black lesbians. I provided one. You also haven't provided any evidence that black gay male characters are overrepresented in media. Just an opinion. You seem to be the one gaslighting.

It's quite simple math. Within the last two years we've had at least two major film pieces, one movie(moon light) and one set to appear on hbo(issa rae's show) with lgbt black male protagonist, and unless you're telling me we had over 97 other straight black male protagonist in major film piece in this country within the same time period, then they are indeed over represented in film in comparison to their %2 share of the actual population. If you have an issue with basic math, then I don't know what to tell

Yes, they, as in referring to the majority of black Americans who don't really have a problem with white supremacy. As I think differently it would be logical for me not to group myself in with that group. Your argument was sad, so you have to resort to semantics in order to not look foolish.

You're just using semantics now honestly.and most estimates put the gay male population at 5-10%. A supporting actress is a major part of the production. You didn't limit your original analysis to film.

These are just the popular films this year.

Get Out (IR), Baby Driver, The Mountain Between Us (IR), Star Wars (IR), Justice League, Detroit (IR), Jumanji, and I'm missing some from that list alone, and that list only covers popular movies from this year. When expanding it to all movies and shows from the past 2 years I'm not sure if the data would fall in your favor, but that's for you to research.

you're playing dumb and acting cartoonish. @PhonZhi threads actually get a lot of agreement the only main issue people bring up is the fact that he's an eminem fan which kind of negates his argument. if it weren't for that folks don't really push back tbh

and the "gay agenda" is simply lgbt people gathering their resources and media influence to get laws passed and social status. it's no different than the chinese agenda, or republican agenda, or latino agenda etc. we can do the same thing and get a black agenda going if we stop playing. the "gay agenda" just happens to align itself with the white supremacist agenda. you're making it seem like its some illuminati alex jones shyt when its not
I have no idea what this thread is about, I'm only here because I'm being tagged but youre 100% wrong. Like I said, dudes get OUTRAGED and furious at the mere mentioning that hiphop today is being used as a form of "media propaganda" to demonize/criminalize the image of blacks worldwide.

And you bringing up my personal opinion that Eminem rhymes words well proves my point. Eminem has absolutely nothing to do with how entertainment has been used throughout history to demonize the reputation of black people. Entertainment being used to do this was happening WELL before Eminem ever existed:

Anonymous poster "Phonzhi" thinking that Eminem rhymes words well shouldn't "negate" the HISTORIC FACT that entertainment/media has been used throughout history to tell the world that blacks are inferior. If you are aware of history, nothing anonymous poster "PhonZhi" says or thinks should matter or have any impact on your own knowledge of the past.

The next time you see someone scoff at the idea of entertainment/music being used as a psychological warfare tactic because I think Eminem rhymes words well, you should check em and tell them that they're wrong and that it does NOT negate past history.

You also mentioned black women boycotting Red Tails. 49% of the audience was women. Dunkirk a similar film only had a 40% female leadership.
Proof that the %49 female audience were mostly black women?

Furthermore the fact that the movie showcased black male gis with white italian women was highlighted on the outset of it's premier, and there were many calls by black women to boycott it for that exact reason. Clutch magazine even did a commentary on the phenomenon.

Where are black women advocating for bw/wm relationships in media.

In fact many of the black male characters that black men champion are involved in relationships with non-black or mixed raced women. Atlanta, Power, Blackish, Insecure.

BM/WW - 172

395 > 172 Which is even more disproportionate considering BMWW outnumbers BWWM in real life more than 2:1.

So, you can stop trying to dispute statistical evidence with cherry picked anedotes now.

CDC
In 2014, gay and bisexual men made up an estimated 2% of the U.S. population, but accounted for 70% of new HIV infections. Approximately 492,000 sexually active gay and bisexual men are at high risk for HIV; however, we have more tools to prevent HIV than ever before.

Red Tails cruised in to second place with a very respectable $18.8 million. That's above comparable fighter pilot movies Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow ($15.6 million), Stealth($13.3 million), and Flyboys ($6 million), though it was a bit off from Sky Captain in estimated attendance. The audience breakdown was 51 percent male and 66 percent 25 years and older.
Can you really be considered to have boycotted a film when you made up half of its viewership?

Weekend Report: 'Underworld' Fends Off Soarin' 'Red Tails' - Box Office Mojo

You seem to be the one cherry picking arguments. That list you posted only contains film, and I'm sure if we were to review it we would see that the vast majority don't involve the main character something you seem tonbe adamant about.

Again so far you haven't listed any other films or TV shows, or anything with leading characters who are black gay males. I've listed several where straight black men were the leading characters.

Mathematically given the movies that you and I have presented black gay male characters seem to be represented close to their population size.

I can be fair in debate and concede that Nia Long did ask for an interracial couple to be in her film. Does that translate to most black women?

I can also concede the gay male popp. data.

A black husband with a white wife is the most common form of black-white marriage, yet this kind of matchup is still rarely shown in film and television. The popular humor website Cracked even mocked this hesitancy in the article “They Still Can’t Show a Black Man Dating a White Woman (Unless That’s What the Whole Movie Is About).” The article argues that producers are too squeamish to depict black man-white woman couples because they think white men are repulsed by them

And although it is statistically more likely for black men to ‘marry out’ of their race, the movie industry seems less keen on interracial couples with black men. According to this informal accumulation of movies with interracial couples, there are twice as many films featuring white men with black women than black men with white women.

Movies and tv shows
They always seem to want more homosexual black male representation, but never seem to push for black lesbian representation, yet at the same time are so gung ho & celebratory about having heterosexual black women represented in interracial relations?

Let me bring myself in here, I was in the Issa Rae thread about the show she’s producing about black bi-sexual men. I had a back & fourth there because I supported it based off of seeing black people produce, write, direct, & star on the new project. I didn’t care that it was about bi-sexual black men. If it were about black bi-women, I’d still watch. My thing is simply supporting black projects.

This uses data from 1967 - 2005

From the 38 years of film in this study 1967 - 2005, the top 15 popular films in box office sales were considered and reviewed. This means that of the possible 540 films 52 studied only 11 examples of white women in an interracial relationship in almost four decades were found. This in and of itself is a telling statistic. The portrayal of white women in an interracial relationship in film, therefore, accounts for 0.019 percent of all films. What is also interesting to note is that the trend has not changed over the decades but become more exaggerated as there are NO white women in the last decade of the study. Of the four decades of films, there were 11 white women compared to 34 women of color. Before research results are even described, it is clear that a white male with a woman of color as opposed to a white woman with a man of color represents the most reoccurring examples in the portrayal of interracial relationships in film. Hollywood is apparently reluctant to put a white woman in a role in a film with a man of any other color.
http://etd.fcla.edu/UF/UFE0013821/ramoutar_n.pdf

I mean we're talking MOUNTAINS of evidence that attest to the over representation of hetero IRBW and the under representation of hetero IRBM in films.

BW/WM, on top of being far more common is portrayed as a more more virtuous, healthy, stable IR coupling than BM/WW in Hollywood.

A University of Florida study of blockbuster Hollywood films between 1967 and 2005 concluded that the media is stuck on specific portrayals of interracial relationships: in the movies sampled, 42 percent of female characters in such pairings were victims of violence. “While white women in interracial relationships came across as either morally corrupt or socially inept or as victims of physical or sexual abuse, women of color who become involved with white men were often presented as erotic, exotic and possessing exceptional talents.” And although it is statistically more likely for black men to ‘marry out’ of their race, the movie industry seems less keen on interracial couples with black men. According to this informal accumulation of movies with interracial couples, there are twice as many films featuring white men with black women than black men with white women.

There is clear bias in favor of the BW/WM coupling over the BM/WW coupling in Hollywood. But, I'm sure @Lifejennings will remain in denial and continue to gaslight with some random cherry picked movies he/she digs up to avoid addressing any real data on the subject. I can't believe we even had to go all the way back to square one to address this.
