It was 4.5 particles vs 1.5 per liter for glass vs plastic. Now who knows what brands or what processing was done in the same plant. I’m curious and going to find the original study.

fukk all that other stuff I’m still sticking with glass or aluminum.

Link to the full study above.

Take home points:
1. Water has much lower microplastics than all of the other beverages, glass or plastic
2. Sparkling has higher microplastics than still water
3. Paint from metal caps on the glass bottles was responsible for the higher level of microplastics in glass versus plastic bottles

This plus past studies suggest (I think) that glass bottles with plastic caps would have the lowest level

If it comes out the cap then wouldn't plastic bottles also have just as much :patrice:

the plastic comes from the cap & seal etcetera*

I believe the microplastics come from paint on the metal caps according to the study (same type of MPs and this decreased when the caps were rinsed and bottles reused)

Ironically, due to the average persons complete lack of ability to interpret scientific studies, they themselves are huge sources of misinformation and confusion
