Forsyth County was a sundown county until the early 90's.
In the 1980's, Forsyth County had no black residents. Today, the black population in that county is only 4%
In the 1950's, the black town of Oscarville was destroyed to make room for the Buford Dam. All black people were forced out. Homes, cemeteries and the remains were displaced as well. The manmade Lake Lanier now occupies space where Oscarville used to be.
