Pop pretty much trolled the entire league the whole regular season...
Not play anyone over 30 minutes...that is insane...there were plenty of times a player was hot...pops set him down...plenty of times a certain rotation was in a groove...pop set him down...game on the line and patty mills 4 from 4 from 3? Take him out he hit his minutes limit...
Manu body fell apart at various times this year...Leviathan was out about 40 % of the year...Parker had so many injuries at one point they were like "we don't even know when he is going to come back"...Danny Green was in a walking boot about 3 weeks before the playoffs started...are we still waiting on the yearly Tiago Splitter high ankle sprain or has it happened yet...I don't even pay attention to it anymore...
Lost his two top assistants...Both who went on to be head coaches...One of who is on the verge of beating a 1 seed as an 8 seed and the other who spent half the year coaching d league players...and didn't miss a beat...
Somehow managed to always have a key piece not play at all or not very much against the elite teams so everyone would have to say "Well OKC beat them 4 times but Duncan only played 12 minutes" Houston beat them 4 times but twice Leonard was out with injury...Hey let's play Golden State without Duncan and Manu...randomly thumped Miami in the middle of the season only to go right back to trolling
Spends the entire regular season just mix and mashing lineups...hey let's try mills and parker at the same time...hey let's try belli and manu at the same time...hey lets try diaw and leonard at the 4 and 5...hey let's go super big with Duncan , Splitter, Leonard, Manu, and Green...hey let's go super small with diaw, leonard,belli, mills, and parker...
Then in his first playoff game...against the Mavs...get's down by 10...and uh oh what will pop do...he been working on all these lineups all year just for situations like this what will he come up with...
And...
He just dumps it down to a 38 year old man repeatedly and obliterates their biggest rival in the last 7 minutes of game 1...
The mind fukk he pulled on Indiana to get Leviathan in and of itself makes him one of the GOATS...
I can see Pop telling Hill..."Hey kid, how would you like to make 10 of millions of dollars AND go back and play for INDIANA?" Just follow my lead...
