Death Row Records had at best a 6 year run of nothing but platinum albums. Def Jam's first 5 years from 84-90 still produced more classics than that. IN 1990 alone you had Fear of a black planet, Mama said Knock you out, and Business as Usual. then you had 2 years prior with Nation of millions and Great adventures of slick rick. cmon man. After dre left in 96, pac died died the same year, and snoop left in 98. It was over after that.

no sir, Def Jam had more than a 20 year run. From LL's first single in 84 to 2016 is more than 20 years.
I don't even know who was in the label in '16 lol, so I was only counting up to the Jay era but still..

Like you said, this everyone else competing for 2nd place.

Death Row from 1992-1997 was untouchable, but they aren't GOAT because their run was short in comparison to Def Jam or even Bad Boy and CMR.

Rick Ross and Jeezy are also under the def jam imprint. And even a few Nas albums
