I wouldn't deny that Slick Rick wasn't an influence but Nas can make a cinematic movie in under four minutes that is more serious and has more depth.

I'm not going to be nostalgic for the sake of being nostalgic especially when Nas has far more story telling output.

Nas took what Rick did and made it far better. Slick Rick has no presence in that video at ALL. I definitely agree with you breh, not trying to put Slick on a pedestal.
