I think America really misses this kind of forum.
Eventually talk shows became a clown show and a disaster.
But I think that people having their beliefs challenged is, ultimately, a good thing.
I don’t particularly agree with some of the things Khalid said in that show. But he did make some strong points. Some good counter points (or questions really) came from the audience more than they came from Phil Donahue.
Unfortunately today the country seems to gravitate toward these echo chambers where we seek to reinforce our already-strong held beliefs and view any difference of opinion as …not another perspective but fundamentally wrong. And it’s proving to be unhealthy.
