You calling him YHWH tells.me you really haven't done your research.

You not refuting anything I posted proves you didn't research anything and just 'heard' it. Probably more than a couple times. Last time, it was around 2011 from Dr. Francesca Stavrakopoulou. Before that, it was Raphael Patai in the late-60's.

To anyone that's done even the tiniest bit of research, Israelites worshipping other 'dieties' is NO surprise, but suggesting such worship was 'mainstream' or 'True Judaism' is absolutely absurd.

God created marriage as “they” say but He didn’t do it Himself. I’m a happily married man but I would like some enlightenment on how that came to be or makes sense. We are made in His image. It’s do as He say, not as He do.
Its a tyranny bro. All that justice, equaulity, and fairness sht goes out the window when dealing with an absolute monarch. Even more so when this monarch can toss your azz in lake of fire, covered in even more fire.:russ:

@Dafunkdoc_Unlimited is 100% right in this later post when he asks....
Why would rules apply to an 'omnipotent' being?

@CodeBlaMeVi , you might as well be dealing with a celestial kim jong Un if we being honest. Politically speaking , Christian lore is the same game we play on earth but on a celestial map.:francis:

God gave his laws to the descendants of Abraham. All of those fake Pagan Egypt religions repackaged today as new age and Masonry are stemmed from Babylon the first time humans tried to reach the heavens and become like God under the influence of Satan.

That’s what’s happening now with Globalism, Multiculturalism, merging currencies, all the lawless mystery religions and beliefs and religions (new age, Catholic, most Christianity) because all these ppl are “inclusive and tolerant” they’re deceived and being used.

As for those other religions

Jubilees 15:31-32

And He sanctified it, and gathered it from amongst all the children of men; for there are many nations and many peoples, and all are His, and over all hath He placed spirits in authority to lead them astray from Him.

But over Israel He did not appoint any angel or spirit, for He alone is their ruler, and He will preserve them and require them at the hand of His angels and His spirits, and at the hand of all His powers in order that He may preserve them and bless them
, and that they may be His and He may be theirs from henceforth for ever.
I would also add, much of the mystery religions are designed to eat not to nourish(like how candy eats your teeth)

if that brings some understanding. Reading the Bible can feel plain and bland at times but over the course of time you’ll see it’s wholesome meal

Actually that isn't true but I did not have time or patience to reply to your original refutation of what I said about Gods wife. I scanned your post and just hit that quick reply. I never said it was mainstream but it was very much a part of the faith. Remember these are disparate desert tribes that came together, there is no such thing as main stream Judaism in ancient times, only what was recorded and then put together or discarded. There are things they decided to do away with over the years for various reasons. But no, my research was not based on that verse in the bible. You immediately went there when there are other, better sources, such as archeological.

I'm in between flights. I'll provide links later.

Here's one Is There Proof That The Judeo-Christian God Had A Wife?

A I never said it was mainstream but it was very much a part of the faith. .

This is not true to the extent you make it out to be as I stated earlier. It was not a 'part of their faith'. It was a result of them living near/among Canaanites.

Your assertion is like stating 'Young Earth Creationism is very much a part of Christian faith'.

That is not 'proof'. That is conjecture that has been refuted multiple times....

The claims that are being made about Yahweh and Asherah in this report are fallacious, as they absolutely over-extend the data, not to mention neglecting decades of prior scholarship on the issue.

Briefly, there are several inscriptions known from Israel and its near-environs that contain the phrase “Yahweh and his Asherah” (at least that’s a possible translation). We had to translate these in grad school and read some studies of them. It’s good stuff. It validates the biblical record that there was heterodox worship of Yahweh in Israel. No kidding. Shocker. Some Israelites (who had never seen a Bible and practiced idolary) thought that Yahweh had a wife/consort. Like I said, that’s sort of expected from the free-for-all description the Bible provides about the spiritual condition of Israel.

some understanding to end this debate

in ancient times the woman was regarded as the house a man resided in (literally and figuratively). Therefore Anat and Asherah represented the "houses" that the Name resided in.

Asherah and Anat subsequently represent the "Two Lands" descriptor used in Egypt...

:ohhh:

Interesting, but there's a much better explanation: Asherah was either Baal's mother, or, El's consort, in Canaanite theology. Ancient Near Eastern theology held that 'g-ds' would often procreate with one another despite how they were related. It didn't take much for some polytheistic Hebrews to syncretize Baal/El with YHWH and turn Asherah into his consort.

instead of getting into canaanite mythology lets keep it logical

you were born in two houses. Your mothers, and this one too

does it make sense now? So in a very literal sense when you see The Name written down, it should tell you what those epithets really allude to

"For ye are the temple of God"...

Bible Gateway passage: Jeremiah 44 - King James Version
Jeremiah 44:18-19
18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?

Nope, doesn't make much sense at all. Sorry. Hebrews becoming more polytheistic as a result of their proximity to Canaanites, on the other hand, does, and is documented in Ugaritic/Biblical texts.

Ok, so "Dafunkdoc" was born to his mother, who resides in a bigger mother

Dafunkdoc knows God in his heart, whose house is his mothers, who dwells within her mothers.

the polytheism starts when you start worshipping the houses.

IE look at the name of "Hathor"

hiero_O10.png

its "Horus" (the face) inside of a box who is his mother (the house of the face)

The "exodus" from egypt is ultimately leaving this thought process....

His name is not fukking Yahweh. You even saying that makes me not even want to acknowledge anything you're saying. Archeology at best can either point to possible proof, at best. I never said there was definitive proof. I simply said at one time God did have a wife in ancient Judaism. You pointed to the bible and assumed I was basing what I said from verses. I told you no I wasn't. Then I said I will provide links when I can. I provided one and here you go again, moving the goal posts.

So for the record:

1) There is no such thing as mainstream ancient Judaism. You're treating the biblical canon as the end all be all, when it's not. shyt, you have several different writers editing together books that even made the canon--see Genesis, where there are several contradictory passages that illustrate this very fact. You're minimizing this fact by treating tribes who may have worshipped a female, as an outlier, when, again, that's not how it works. There wasn't some main hub of Hebrews and then people on the outskirts. It was more like several different tribes, and some beliefs ended up getting snuffed out and removed from canon.

2) knowing this, archeologists have been unearthing artifacts that further supports the POSSIBILITY that it was widespread, and not to be dismissed from what others have called a "misunderstanding of scripture".

I honestly don't have anymore interest going back and forth with you.

Sorry, that doesn't make sense, either.
