What yall dont understand is that valuation depends on IP library. Your IP is actually worthless in real life in newer generations arent paying for it

I think it’s more-so that this shyt is a business first, 2nd and third. Profit is what matters, not the love of the game (no pun) which probably only lasts for the first sequel or two before the og teams disbands/move on to other ish in their lives.

So if you’re going to invest 200+ million overhead on a game or movie, you’re going to minimize risk and stick with the IPs that you know are hits and keep them in their most familiar forms.

Hence Spider-Man will almost always start off as a kid/high schooler in big budget movies. And every gaming IP that was ever a hit will be remastered.

Two weeks ago I was actually talking to my friends about what games we want remaked and I said I would be happy if GOW 3 gets ported to PC and PS5 and they remake the first two in that engine.

Up the res, add some higher poly assets, a new lighting engine, 60fps, ray tracing etc, obviously I'm not a game dev so don't know how hard all that would be but GOW 3 still looks so good I would be happy if the first two looked like that.

Really curious to see what they do, this will probably be a cross gen title so will they debut a new engine or version of their engine or will they use the same as Ragnarok and leave the new tech for the next main entry?

I'm assuming GOW1 will first be it's own release right? I don't remember much from GOW1+2, mostly remember GOW 3 though which was fukking fantastic. I guess no new God of War game for years to come then.
