If I remember right, Neil Degrasse Tyson has said on a few occasions that "We are the universe discovering itself"-- That's pretty much what I gathered from the quote in the OP minus the flowery language. There's similar quotes that could be applied, bur from a spiritual perspective rather than strictlu religious "To know yourself is to know God", etc

It's pretty accurate. The religious terminology makes it easy for some to misinterpret

We are the universe experiencing itself. This is basically a game we're playing for the purpose of self discovery. Certain limitations are in place for the game to exist. Through the process of awakening as described in the OP, these limitations are gradually transcended and other forms of growth occur.

There's much more detail and nuance that aren't present in the OP or this post. That information would be best suited for another avenue of discussion, or for the individual to discover themselves
