i dont think anybody looks at god like a companion or friend the same way that a fellow human can be. Its different.
At its best, your relationship to him is a father/child relationionship , or at worst its an employee/boss relationship. Your human soulmate is no greater threat to god than your wife is a threat to your work supervisor, so i dont think he would activley try to stop you from being happy
(unless of course you are a sheep herder named "Job", in which case its cool to make you unhappy)
