why is it difficult for you to understand, those things can take decades to kill you, covid kills in weeks. cigarettes and alcohol are literal poison but it'll damage the body over a period of years or decades for the vast majority of smokers and drinkers but more importantly they can still remain functional members of society. the government permits these damaging products for consumption because people can function for decades. covid overwhelms resources and is damaging to the economy. no economy can reach it's full potential with a virus this deadly. if this thing mutates among the 100+ unvaccinated individuals and if that mutation can evade the vaccines effects then we're all screwed.
