Last month on BBC I read that Nigeria's military no longer planed to hold operations in the north of the country.

Apart from Egypt and SA, I can see this happening anywhere in Africa because the armies are not properly run/funded. Most have ethnic fault lines which can be exposed at the drop of a hat.

Kenya is in the same dicey position, their inability to defeat some ragtag Somalis with a death wish is well known. Only difference is they at least acknowledge when they have been attacked before putting their heads in the sand and going about their business. #rememberwestgatelamubarracksmanderabaringo
