Sterling wouldn't have lost his team in the NFL
Man please. The PUBLIC was against Sterling. That was EASY for the NBA to make that move. :childplease:

They tolerated him for 8 years prior to that, knowing he was a abject racist and ignoring one of their hall of fame players telling them as such.

Stop making the NBA out to be progressive.

That was during the Stern era and we know Stern is the shadiest mofo in all of sports, the moment Silver took over Sterling was gone and lots of players and coaches have been able to speak their mind :stopitslime:

Agree.

I still don't think an NFL owner would have lost his team though

Who cares whose era it was?

Second, players of both leagues speak their minds, but only two leagues had players outright protest....the NFL and WNBA. To sit here and act like white nba fans would react different seeing that....

Yes he would have.

The NBA only decided to take action once sponsors began pulling out.
Exactly. The idea that the NBA's actions were "progressive" and "noble."

These dudes stay giving the NBA unearned sainthood when I'm saying all of these leagues are the same. Just one had players that went harder.

There's a simple way to fix this. If people don't want political/religious statements or demonstrations at their sporting events, throw the anthem in the bushes where it belongs.
Its like makin people stand for an anthem before watching a movie. Wtf does politics and religion have anything to do with entertainment

That's because Stern's cac ass made the rule that you HAD to stand for the anthem like 20 years ago, it wasn't a rule in the NFL or WNBA at the time
