Plenty of street nikkas were out there :dead: drake was by far the least authentic person to perform the whole weekend that's why the energy was off. 21 savage show the night before was lit, drake just oozes industry manufactured product, at an event full of artists who really came from nothin

They cheer for “authentic” street rappers cause rap music feels like a dangerous safari trip thru the wacky world of nikkas.

They consider him too close to their world of privilege to take him seriously and are threatened by the fact that the streets do tho.

Plenty of street nikkas are also manufactured by the label. In fact, that’s been the norm in rap for a long time.

I thought Tyler didn't like Drake?

I remember an interview they did on MTV on the Chinatown bus where Tyler said he'd rather do a song with Drake or listen to Black Eyed Peas’ last album than be on a Chinatown bus to Philly

I can't find the video on YouTube anymore but it's here, first vid around 2 mins

From what it looks like on the timeline, the issue really became that after a surprise guest like Rocky and then an artist as big as Drake in the climax, they figured (with all the rumors flying around) that Frank Ocean would end up being a shoe-in as the final act and truly didn't expect Drake to be the headliner.

As I'm scrolling down, the crowd was rocking with it, but didn't expect him to do more than a few songs b/c they still were holding hope out for Frank. Once he left, reality set in:

Unfortunate, but hey...that's show business.

That shyt died down quick af after the initial surprise my guy, sucked the air right out the crowd. I still cant believe they ended with aubrey after what was a really wild 2 days of perfomances

Makes me wonder what the best call would've been to avoid a situation like this. You've got a crowd expecting Frank Ocean, but he's not around. Who wouldn't have disappointed them? :patrice:
