I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
The second. Coppola needed the money and needed a hit. Like his back was against the wall after a string of flops and he was in debt.

I know we give directors and actors a hard time when they make decisions that are obviously money driven (even tho to be real, even the good decisions are still money driven to a degree), but they still have the same issues we all have but on a larger scale. Iโ€™m sure most of us can relate to needed some money in a pinch and feeling like our back is against the wall

If you want to get philosophical about it - The Godfather Part 3 sort of represents Coppola's falling influence in Hollywood.

Part 1 - He had come into his own and got power.
Part 2 - He was at the height of his power.
Part 3 - He was slowly losing his power.

Last time I rewatched the films I skipped this one. I've been thinking about it recently though, its a good film. Other than Sofia Coppola (she's pretty hot here with the long hair but her acting is poor) it had some fukking cool shyt in it. The whole banking scandal with the Vatican is pretty cool (and only semi-fictional), the opera scene at the end etc.

I think its underrated, will have to watch it again soon.

Dude is clearly tortured and done with it all, life in general. Never caught a break from the bullshyt.

Never does.

Reflection is a son of a bytch.

@ndthentherewasx you say he never caught a break from the bullshyt and never does. Well at the end of the day whose fault was it?? He put himself in that position and did it to himself. Vito Corleone didn't end up like that because he made better decisions than Michael.

The two unforgivable sins of the movie are not giving Robert Duvall his money, and hiring fukkin George Hamilton as the consigliere, and Sophia. Just, reprehensible performance

The villains were way too cartoony, as is the priest character. And kay somehow sucked worse.

"It's not that bad" - is it GOOD?!? :scust:

It's not as good, period. Francis needed the money, way too much time had passed and the acting was just off all around. It's not incredibly bad but far below the standard of the first two but Francis has always been hit and miss. Either incredible or terrible with little in between.

I don't know how many times I watched first two movies, but this shyt???? I watched it two times....the first time was extremely disappointing and the 2nd time was many years later just to see if the movie was really that bad...and yes it was.

Only great thing about Godfather 3 is Pacino's they pull me back in scene that was later parodied by Soprano's. That's it. I don't remember shyt about the movie. Who was the villain there...Zaza or something? fukking guy named after a weed.

I tried to rewatch the trilogy a few years ago and I got about 10 minutes into part 3 and I had to turn it off.
I kinda want to revisit this world again but I might just read the books instead.

The pacing sucked. The story was too convoluted. Al Pacino was in the early stages of being washed. George Hamilton made it look like a TV movie, Sofia Coppola is the worst nepo hire of all time. Francis Ford Coppola was washed. Andy Garcia was trying too hard. The movie visually looked like the early 90s and i refuse to elaborate. They waited too long to make it. Shoulda been done 10 years earlier.

Dont get me started on this trash

FFC lost the sauce for this. Pacino also became a caricature

I watched the Redux version from a few years back and might've liked it even less

I don't think it is good as the first two but still enjoy it. I watched it everyday last week.

Coppola should've never went forward without Duvall and a good actress to play the daughter. Also just bad casting, Joey Zaza was terrible, terrible assassination scenes, dude killed homie with his eye glasses. :flabbynsick:Bad movie. Part 3 should be came out by 79. :why:

Could've been the goat trilogy but no....:shaq2:
andy garcia was embarrassing as expected, but for even joe mantegna to suck that hard, jeez :why:

i despise sofia coppola. she has never made a good movie. pure nepo baby
