Godfather III to get a DIRECTORS CUT, coming back to cinemas

The only Directors cut I'd be interested in would be to cut Sofia Coppola and the entire Vatican storyline out of the film.

The vatican story is dope imo, and it's also based on a true story.

I agree with @HHR Sofia looked gorgeous in this film, and if it was a standalone film, it would be critically acclaimed.

The Vatican storyline was a great idea, Michael's way of trying to purchase public forgiveness and contemplating how he does business and offing his business. But it makes the movie drag in spots.

And it doesn't matter how good Sofia looked, she was a awful actress and the incest subplot is a complete WTF.

Still a good movie tho, and I'm glad it exists. But it was doomed once they replaced Robert Duvall with George Hamilton.

Will be interesting to see if they can improve on part 3.

A sequel with Vincent during the gotti era would have been cool.

I liked 3. it was a decent flick overall if it wasnt coming off one of the GOAT 1 & 2 movies ever if you excuse some poor acting.

Al was still great in it and I liked Andy Garcia too. The drop off is huge from 1 & 2 but it doesnt mean its a terrible movie.

I'd be interested to see the changes but it's too bad we didn't get the godfather we hoped for. Pacino was Pacino by then so he was unrecognizable as Michael in part 3. Bad casting and bad plot also ruined it.

3 was horrible due to the incest angle and nobody around them caring that it’s just plain nasty. Everything else was Godfather

The incest angle was the worst thing they could have ever contemplated doing.

They followed that up by casting a non actor as the incest lead.

Then Pacino acted....literally...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE HE ACTED IN THE PRIOR MOVIES!!!

Like, there is character growth, and then there is what Pacino did to Michael in this movie.

This would be like Chewbacca just randomly
speaking the Kings English in the Return Of the Jedi.

I'll give the new part 3 a chance and see if the new cut adds to it. Hopefully in addition to this, they rerelease the first 2 in 4k. It would be a good time to remaster everything
