in a way we were cured of that deeper form of tribalism so that those farther removed from that separate tribal mentality are able to take in and amalgamate all things

we should be able to enjoy culture all of it without attaching our identity to it

culture is not a justification to do wrong by one another in the grand scheme it is not primary

aa's caribbean afro.latin etc. show that culture is something that can be taken or left it is something that is made as needed from what is around you

we are closer to being what the rest of the world is yet to become a melting pot where cultures can be blended and your identity is based more on individual actions & choices

if you are willing to do right then we will all meet at the middle of the table

at the core of every individual should be the guiding rule of justice

treat others as you would be treated

where you are from food you eat cloths you wear music you listen to the language you speak & so on are really just details that can come in any number of combinations

none of those things justify conflict it's petty it's backwards it's something all humanity is yet to rise above

I think that depends on where you live. I don't know any AA who have a close relationship with Hispanics at all. Most I know can't stand them.

Actually if you look deeper talking shyt jokingly is a big thing in Africa as well. In Western Africa they have this special social construction called "cousins of jokes" (I don't know how to properly translate it, it's "cousinage de plaisanterie" in french) in which teasing/joking/talking shyt is a social tool to keep groups closer and diplomatically deal with conflict. It's less prominent/instituzionalised in Central Africa to my knowledge but as a kid I remember vividly joking/talking shyt to and with Africans from other countries. And my pops told me it was the same when he was growing up between different ethnic groups.
