Future Trunks had to get it out the mud - he didn't have all the resources that main timeline Trunks had, no adults to fall back on and clean up his messes, and his Vegeta never reached Super Saiyan so he didn't have the genetics line up for him to reach it early on.Trunks raised by gohan was bytched out by androids for literally his entire life and didnt go supersaiyan until he was like 19.

all this shows me is that gohan was forced to constantly hold the line against monsters all his life. none of the soft ass living of his brothers era or the soft as adventuring with hoes like his dad and friends. after having worlds watch you get shyt on and beat to unconsciousness multiple times only for people only wanting to recognize one person, its no wonder te psychological toll is higher on him
