Nah, my friend taught in Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia, he didn't know any of the languages.
In the end, he parlayed the English job into a position with a palm oil company in Indonesia because one of his students worked there and got him a hookup, he makes around $60k USD, the average person makes $3000. He came home in the summer for a masters program at Columbia, he paid it in full, shyt was like $15k.
