depends, parts of Asia and Middle East you will make the most money (as in you can probably save 1g a month or more). You wont get rich off of it no matter where you are but you can live comfortable
Nah, my friend from HS did this in South Korea, she didn't have to know any Korean. The class was completely in English; whatever Korean she learned she picked up on her own.
It's not a requirement since classes are only taught in English. But of course you're encouraged to learn the language of the country you are living while you are there.

Nah, my friend taught in Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia, he didn't know any of the languages.
In the end, he parlayed the English job into a position with a palm oil company in Indonesia because one of his students worked there and got him a hookup, he makes around $60k USD, the average person makes $3000. He came home in the summer for a masters program at Columbia, he paid it in full, shyt was like $15k.
Depends on where you go, generally you're paid more than what the average person in that country makes, meaning you can typically get a really nice apartment. Some places will provide you with an apt too, so your housing is taken care of already and they give you $1200-1500 a month after the fact.
You wont be caked up by American standards, but you will be able to live comfortably with money to spare because the cost of living is much lower.American English speakers are in very high demand around the world.

Go after you complete your degree. It will be fun and you get to live and work in another culture and land. Plus there is always business opportunities to be made outside the US. I've meet Europeans that opened hotels in South America because they went there to teach languages and stayed enough times to get a feel for the market.

I never asked, but I assumed Indonesia is his favorite, he's been there for about 4 years now, he comes home for a week or two every 6 months then he's back there immediately. I have asked him if he ever sees himself coming back to live in the US and while he doesn't say no, I think that's his home now.
He's 33, and realistically he could retire right now if he wanted to as long as he stayed there, my dude is a master scuba diver now, that's how much free time he had on his hands. You wont make a lot of money unless you do what he did, but if you do you're straight, he's thinking of starting his own diving school for tourists.
