I might go there sometime next year. I have random questions though:

1. Whats the rent like in Berlin? I'm talking just a simple one bedroom apartment near the city.
2. Can you really live there if you only speak English?
3. Are there any good shopping centers or malls in Berlin?
4. Is there seafood or mexican food there? I grew up in Texas and California. Its a stable in my diet.
5. If you run an online business (eBay/Amazon). What USPS spot would you go to ship from Germany to USA?

1. Apparently it's affordable for World Class city standards, but less affordable than it used to be. Berlin passed a 5 year rent freeze earlier this year, but I'm not sure if it will go into effect or not.

2. You can get by fine with English for day to day stuff but I have to imagine that you would need German for most jobs and most friend circles
3. Definitely, there was a multi story mall next to my hotel (with a cool beer garden on the roof)
4. I don't know about seafood, but it looks like Mexican food is becoming more popular there. Definitely don't expect as many options as LA or even New York, however there are some places with good reviews. I was watching a video of this Mexican chick living in Germany and there was a spot that she said was pretty authentic.
5. I don't know about USPS but from what I see at my job in the US that involves shipping, any UPS or DHL spot would probably do

I'm definitely not the most knowledgeable person on this as I just went there on vacation as well as did research. I think there are a few posters who actually have lived in Germany or still live there.

1. Depends on where you are staying, between 600 Euros if you are very lucky and 1500 if you want something upscale. Average should be between 800 and 900 with utilities.
2. Yes, unless you live in the outskirts of the city, but official business like getting registered in the city will be a pain in the ass. Berlins administration is overworked and extremely understaffed, so people working there will be annoyed that you're making life more difficult for them.
3. Yes, Mall of Berlin at Potsdamer Platz, Gallery Lafayette at Friedrichstraße and Kaufhaus des Westens (KDW) at Kuhrfürstendamm are the most fancy ones. The latter is the most famous and frequented mostly by tourists who just want to have a look and rich arabs and russians who can actually afford the prices there. Alexa at Alexanderplatz is not as upscale and mainly frequented by people from Eastern Berlin so more of a working class experience. Neukölln Arkaden is the is the one with the Biergarden on the roof, which will give you a great view of the city but gets very crowded in the evening.
4. For down to earth Mexican food, go to Dolores at either Alexanderplatz in Mitte or Wittenbergplatz in Charlottenburg. La Lucha at Maybachufer is more fancy and also has a great choice of tequilas and mezcal. The waiters there are mostly americans. I'm not a fan of seafood, so I can't help you there. But there is all kinds of food in Berlin and mostly at affordable prices, so you will probably find a good spot once you're there.
5. DHL is the best option.

I'll defiantly keep this all in mind. Germany is defiantly my top pick. This and Prague, Czech Republic I heard is nice too.

I went to Klunkerkranich in late September and it wasn't too crowded, it was cold outside so I just chilled in one of the inside rooms which was nice.

Yeah, Biergarden season is over in late september but in the spring and summer you'll be waiting in line forever if you arrive after 5pm. The view is beautiful though, especially at sunset.

Can you get a good job in Germany if you only have a two year degree in Business Management? I live in Americus, Georgia right now and work a minimum wage job at a restaurant. I was considering moving to Germany next year.

I do not know anything about the business side but I do know you can get to Berlin if you go the IT route

Thanks breh. How hard is it to learn the german language?

I would download language learning materials like Michel Thomas or Pimsleur on torrent sites. You can be decent if you practice in 3 months.

Ditch the grammar and just start learning phrases.

This guy is awesome. Watch his videos to learn.
