Going to So. Illinois for Easter.. Can anyone school me on what to expect?

I'm going there to meet the family(gf) . We driving from NJ to IL. Plans to go to Chicago or St Louis, attend the players ball and have some fun. She already told me some things like how nikkaz dress and to not get into fights with white people calling you BOY etc. Anything else I should know?

Southern illinois is closer to St. Louis.. You'll be 4 - 5 hours away from chicago..
