I think it's a big deal for women. I often hear women say that they wouldn't go by themselves. However, grown Men it doesn't seem to be big deal. I do think though grown Men are typically more comfortable with themselves and not concerned with what other folks think. That being said, I do both. I go solo or with people... don't really care either way.

I don't judge anybody that goes to a movie by themselves, I've done it a few times. Only reason I prefer going with a partner is the after movie conversation and breaking down what I saw and getting a different view point fresh after seeing it.

Ive done it it like 3 times, one of the times I was on business travel the other 2 times I was watching a movie for a second or 3rd time and couldnt get anyone to go see it with me

This is it for me.

Like for something like Inception, my people and I all knew what it was with that. Certain movie are actually pretty good to see alone.

Only time I did it was to see the Dark Knight matinee, and I'd do it again if there was a movie I really wanted to see but no one could go with me. Wouldn't go on a weekend night or anything, but that's just me, I'm not gonna point and laugh at the guy going to the movies alone we should be beyond that as a culture.

i like going to the movies by myself every now and then but i prefer going to the movies when there is almost no one there. that shyt is
there's nobody trying to be funny and cracking jokes during the movie. nobody with big ass heads sitting in front of me.

Only way I go…I appreciate/analyze/movies way more then most people I know, and probably most in general…It's also relaxing and meditative on you're own, and more of a social experience with other people. Women=out, movie is a terrible date to begin with, and unless it's someone I'm already close with, most women I know don't exactly have a discerning taste in movies either. Plus, friends of mine are obnoxious as fukk in the theater, from relayed experiences, smoking their e cigarettes with wax/hash/weed, drinking, on facebook and shyt…People hit me sometimes like 'lets go to a movie', and I'm so set on solo now, I'm usually like 'Nah….I just like to go alone'.

the first time i did it was when 300 came out. it was a spur of the moment type deal so didn't bother hittin any of my friends up cuz i know i woulda been sittin around waiting.

just went today. 10am matinee screening, there were 3 solo people(all guys) in the theater, and a family of 3

maybe it's a weird gender thing but i'm pretty sure a female wouldnt be caught dead going alone like that, in fact the only other girls i saw were all in groups



having a massive 25 screen movie theater to yourself and like 100 others is brilliant, more workers than people in the damn thing... everything is so quiet . couldve literally spent all day there there was no one.. but i had things to do

I think girls are naturally more social though and tend to do everything in pairs. If they go to the washroom together you know the deal when it comes to going out anywhere.
