It worked against Buu.

Almost worked against Freeza...granted, he got up from it, but he was fukked up and angry after he got hit.

Only reason the spirit bomb didn't kill Frieza was because all the Namekians were dead plus the planet Namek was dying so Goku could only squeeze enough energy to form a mediocre spirit bomb.

To answer the thread's question, Goku's biggest weakness was that he loved to fight and get stronger... but not to kill. Sad part was that Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Future Trunks, and even Tien had the killer instinct and drive to destroy their opponents but they were no where near as strong as Goku to get the job done so everybody suffered because of it.

To be fair the fact that Goku wasn't around led to Gohan becoming ultra smart and marring some rich p*ssy. Had Goku actually been around to raise Gohan and Goten they would have been meatheads like their punch drunk father.

Chi-Chi is the reason he's ultra smart. Before piccolo took gohan, he had no training at all cuz goku was too scared of chi-chi to teach him.

Yeah but you know Gohan would have constantly snuck out the house to train with Goku if he was around, you saw how Goku ran away with Uub for many years just to train with him. But since he was not around Gohan was at the mercy of Chi Chi and she wasn't raising no dummies.

He's gullible. Extremely gullible. Like, all a villain has to do is tell Goku that they're sorry and he'll instantly believe them.

But let's keep it 100, Vegeta (aka let Mr. Cell become perfect) isn't any better. He's even more arrogant than Goku is gullible. There's way more crap that happened in DBZ that was Vegeta's fault (for being arrogant) than Goku's.

I'll take a kindhearted protagonist over one that screws the Earth over because he's just sure he can't be defeated, despite taking more Ls than anybody.

Wasn't he the whole reason the Majin Buu saga started to begin with? If he hadn't let Babidi mind-control him and he never fought Goku, Buu would have never been awakened, IIRC.

I always stanned Krillin and Piccolo over both of them, to be honest.
