Nash was the most popular babyface in the company when he won the title...DDP close second. They were starting to boo Goldberg. It was the right time to give the title to someone else...Nash was just a big a draw as anyone in that company...I went to nitros back when the wolfpack was jumpin...they were all sold out and full of crowds that had wolfpack shirts. Nash wasn't filling em up? Bullshyt. Damn near every Nitro was sold out since the Outsider angle. I waited in line overnight outside of the box office at Fiesta Mall for tickets with thousands of people...That show sold out in less than an hour and thats when Goldberg was out with an injury. Thats not to say that Goldberg wasn't the face of the company. Bottom line...Nash was the leader of the hottest stable...he'd been one of the hottest things in wrestling since he got to WCW. He moved merch with the best of em. If anyone was to pull off the upset against Goldberg...Nash was the most believable. He ultimately did what he thought was best for business to keep Goldberg the top babyface and protected him by having Hall do the Tazer...should have had a rematch instead of the fingerpoke of doom. If you don't think Nash was deserving as a champion in 98 your an idiot plain and simple. I'm not even gonna argue about it...everyone who came up during that time and watched WCW knows its true.

Lol@Nash was as big a draw as Goldberg...you nyggas live and breathe on crack cocaine. They can boo Goldberg until they lose their voice but they paid to see him keep up that streak more than to hear Nash crack jokes and dodge wrestling week to week. If Nash was as anywhere near as big as you let yourselves believe, they would of stayed on Austin's lead in 99 and kept going. They didnt. They did sabotage booking the same time Foley won the belt..now the second hottest face of 98 as you keeping trying to say got outdrawn by goofy stuntman worker Mick Foley? Great decision giving Nash the belt. It was stupid..insane...it ruined Goldberg, WCW, and fukked up that corner of the wrestling business for good. We are suffering as fans this very day as a result of pushing Nash like he mattered.

to even suggest that nash was bigger than goldberg though... :patrice:

i mean do y'all stan for kevin nash that badly or do you guys just despise goldberg?

yes at one point nash was the cool kid on the block and yes there might have been a week or two in late 98 where he ranked number 1 in the power rankings but in the nba that's like touting a team that finished in 6th place as the best team in the league because they had a 8 game winning streak back in march. even at nash's highest point you still knew he was gonna lose to goldberg.

maybe a few of the smarks in the crowd started getting tired of goldberg, maybe they saw nash as the answer to that. but please don't pretend the the larger audience wasn't paying to see goldberg. i have this feeling somehow that goldberg would have continued to drawn big regardless at that time, meanwhile show me another instance where kevin nash was ever in the main event and drew that high.

Your a fukin idiot.

Watch their match at Halloween Havoc, the crowd were clearly behind Nash. People became tired of Goldberg's bullshyt by then.

That pop when he got the win :ohlawd:

@R=G fuk u 2

The pop when he got that win??? How about the DEATH OF WCW when he got that win???

quick question smart guy more people around the world paid to see starrcade because they wanted to see kevin nash win... or because they wanted to see goldberg win?

if goldberg beats nash that puts him over even more. now the question is who really can beat this guy. more importantly, the fans were still paying to see him. they could have (and should have) fed the entire fukkin roster to him. all the old guys who were on their way out of the main event scene. sting, hogan, savage, luger, bret, nash... all those guys could have been used to build up goldberg even more while you develop the bottom of the card guys into future main eventers. Goldberg could have dominated for another YEAR.

nobody beljeved this guy could lose. even when nash got over no one ever gave him a punchers chance to beat Goldberg clean.

he could have been the next hulk hogan type draw. and he was jewish too, the media would have loved him lol.

Who can honestly say they still stan for Goldberg in 2015 though
like if Goldberg walked through that curtain next Monday and speared john cena you wouldn't mark the fukk out.

nah, I'm sure you'd probably just change the channel.
