Break down their stats from an age-by-age comparison and they stack up pretty similarly.
Reggie Miller
Klay Thompson
There's a difference in mentality though as Miller was a dog in the playoffs whereas Thompson was kind of lackluster, although he still did average 18 points in the post-season last year. Compare that to 20 from Reggie at the same age.
People also forget that as good as Reggie was, he was only a 5x all-star. Klay as we know is able to put some up some gaudy numbers when he's locked in. The season Klay had last season is as good statistically as any Reggie ever had (on a per 36 minute basis) without being the focal point of the team.
Klay is up there with Reggie, but he is playing along someone who is atmospherically on a different stratosphere, so he looks pedestrian by comparison.
That said though, I'm taking Reggie for his intangibles, mentality, and ability to create space without the ball in his hands.
