Politico article: Fox poll: Jones leads Moore by 10 in Alabama
Democrat Doug Jones has a 50% to 40% lead over Republican Roy Moore in a new Fox News poll released Monday morning — his biggest lead in any public survey of Alabama's special Senate election.
The poll found 8% of likely voters were undecided, and 2% were supporting another candidate. Fox News' last poll, conducted last month, gave Jones a 50% to 42% lead.
Most public surveys in the past week have shown Moore with a small lead over Jones.
One potential explanation for the difference between the Fox News' poll and other surveys: Jones leads Moore by 30 points among voters interviewed on cell phones, who tend to be younger, while the race is even among voters interviewed on landlines. Other surveys, some of them automated polls, have not included calls to cell phones.
Allegations that Moore sexually abused young girls have rocked Tuesday's special election to replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions, giving Jones a chance to win in bright-red Alabama, where President Donald Trump romped to a 28-point victory last November.
In the poll, 39% of likely voters believe the allegations against Moore are true and 33% believe they are false. Last month, 38% believed they were true and 37% believed they were false.
