young breh I know just got a warehouse job with a major company and he wants to secure it.

19 year old breh he's just now getting into the work force and he wants to be the best at work what are some things you would tell him or any young black person trying to be the best employee at their first job.

Be there first and leave last is a good way to set yourself apart. Be willing to do the work other's complain and whine about doing. Be open to manager requests because that means they trust you with responsibilities more than others.

Tell him these jobs don't really give a fukk about their employees.

But attendance is what these warehouse jobs like the most. If he shows up every day on time he should be good. But I don't believe in that above and beyond shyt. Seen too many good workers get fukked over

And at most warehouse jobs, hard work just just gets you rewarded with more work :lolbron:

^^I'm conflicted because the cynical side of me agrees with yall but, the successful side of me sees yall as carrying defeated toxic energy that yall wanna pass to the younger generation and I cant rock with that.

If the young breh wants to go above and beyond to perform good trying to get promoted why not let him?

A local warehouse requires all forklift driver to load a minimum of 6 trucks per day.

James loads an average of 7-9 per day

SuperNegro Greg loads an average of 10-11...and walks around with his chest out like he's doing something

Wayne does the bare minimum of 6 per day. Never a day that he goes by in which he goes over 6. He even paces himself.

7 months later, it's time for bonuses and raises. The end result: They all get the equal bonuses and equal pay raises.

James: :beli:

Greg: :mjcry:

Wayne: :youngsabo::umad:

Somewhere tropic...
Just be aware of the criteria you're evaluated on. Ask for a copy of your job description.
And strive to accomplish even exceed those criteria. Build rapport with your manager. Take on additional tasks/roles if possible not at the expense of your main roles being affected though.

Build a rapport w the manager

work hard but don’t overload yourself

Don’t become complacent, either plot on moving up or moving out...nikkas get complacent w doing the minimum and before you know it you’ve been at a dead end job for years

Well of course teach him about hard work and being reliable, but also make sure he’s fully aware of the politics
