I'm good at making music and graphic design, which is what I do aside from working retail. I suck at marketing and promoting though, so I don't really make that much money from it at this point.

If you like graphic design then you'd be better taking a couple of classes to get a certificate and then start doing work on the side. Check out churches, small concert halls or something. Also look for graphic designer jobs on Craigslist or a job site and see what type of skills they require.

Go to a community college or university near you and network with some marketing majors. You can get some cheap help and may do some design work for them in exchange.
